Session 23 - Were Wolves Howl, Werewolves follow.

General Summary

Time has advanced to the 16th of Abadius. We ring in the new year on this fledgling territory as it continues to grow.  

Neth

A month, as bipolar as the god it is named after, bedeviled Ista with setbacks.
Upkeep
The Kobold Influence continues to spread, reports of missing items begin to be reported.
Commerce
Four units of ore were lost in transit and did not make it to their destination. Unrest increased due to instability on previously thought to be safe trade lanes.

Strongarm - Unsuccessfully attempted to quell unrest politically. Also pondered the portents.
Zolahama - Assisted in providing care to the region, helping in easing burdens.
Faenulos - Pondered the portents and saw a few glimpses.

The death of the year falls to the month named after the sadistic Zon-Kuthon himself.
Upkeep
Kobold influence continues to spread.
Commerce
The ore commodities were properly managed and sent to be sold this time around, with Rostland being the bulk of the trade this month.

Strongarm - Reads the portents but misinterpets them, leading to a catastrophic event.
Faenulos - Focuses his efforts on building roads.
Deylen - Focuses his efforts on the future claim. Finds success.
Zolahama - Focuses on getting the fishers prepared.

Claim Hex - Successfully claimed the temple of Erastil within the forest. Jhod Kavken is happy to see the heroes once more.
Build Roads - Roads to the gold mine go as planned.
Event
A scandal rocks the fledgling nation as powerful rumors regarding Strongarm begin to circulate. Unfortunately things get out of hand very quickly before said rumors could be squashed and the populace, while not outright calling for his removal, are upset with his current actions in the government.

The god of patience sees the new year begin its long march.

The kobold influence at this time manages to not spread.

The lively ore mines continue to churn out profits for the nation which are shipped out in exchange for wealth.

Zolahama - Ponders the portents
Strongarm - Pulls a political 180 by quelling unrest, suprising some of the populace.

Regional
Claim hex - Claimed the territory above Clemency with resounding speed. Additionally this marks the period where the kingdom has 10 claimed hexes, increasing their power but also their overhead.
Fishing - Two harvests are sent out while only one returns with a reasonable haul.
Build Roads - Roads into the forest are costly but now allow for quicker travel.

Civic
Demolish - The supposed miracle structure was demolished as plans to build a general store are drafted amongst the council.
Event
Roaming monsters roused early from their winter hibernation begin attacking travellers on the roads by the forests. While the initial attacks are held back, they were not fully exterminated and may come back.

Additionally, amongst the reports Zolahma Yew sees a couple of inconsistencies amongst the reports and comes to the conclusion that there is another set of attacks happening simultaneously. These attacks claimed the lives of a farmhand named Saki and a shepard named Beven outside of Clemency. The heroes then decide that this should be investigated and spread out.   The first day is spent gathering information with Faenulos frequenting The Whispering Leaf and Zolahama looking over the reports some more. The second day has the heroes travel to the location of a farmhouse outside of the city to inspect the bodies. They see the telltale bite marks from large sized creatures, such as a wolf or a warg. However Zolahama notices a unique detail that the bodies had brusing on them akin to being gripped and held down by hands, but cannot come to a solid conclusion.
The third day sees the heroes investigating the sites where the attacks took place. Deylen manages to track clawed footprints leading to a copse of trees hiding more tracks and bloodstains but the tracks end there. A closer inspection, however, reveals a set of humanoid footprints leaving the copse. Racking their brains, the collective knowledge of Arcane, Nature, and Society are able to determine that there is a high chance that a werewolf is the culprit behind these attacks.
