Oasis
Oasis sits at a crossroads of three major highways and is the largest trade center in the Wastes. Grains from the north, spices and textiles from the south, and "laborers" from the west all find their way into Oasis and into the hands of eager buyers.
The city is governed by a merchant prince named Orros, who rules benevolently but securely. Travel into and out of the city requires either a signed Citizen's Document or a sponsorship from one of the local merchants' guilds.
Demographics
Approximately 60% human, mostly syph, with deo and mochilians comprising the remaining minority.
Government
Prince Orros is widely known to be paranoid and sees enemies everywhere. Security for both his citizens and traders is a priority, and it is not uncommon to see armed peacekeepers travelling the streets in groups of three or four.
Defences
The city is surrounded by walls wide enough for three armed patrolmen to walk side by side.
Industry & Trade
Merchants from all corners of Vecrona come to Oasis to buy and sell all manner of goods. From the Akregian empire in the north comes crops and livestock, from the west comes wagons full of slaves of all species and specializations, and from the exotic lands in the south come spices, silks, and works of art.
Infrastructure
Aptly named, Oasis gleans all of its fresh water from the wellspring at the top of a nearby mesa, which is then distributed throughout the city via a complex aqueduct system.
Geography
Barring the mountains to the south and west, the only landscape one can see for miles in any direction is desolate sand.
