Bone Brambles

The Bone Brambles are a cursed forest of calcified trees and bonelike vines located in Avernus in the Nine Hells. While the term "bone brambles" has been adopted to refer to all forest of bones in Avernus, the Bone Brambles proper are a forest of druids and dryads teleported from the Feywild into Avernus centuries ago.

Localized Phenomena

The white calcified trees of the Bone Brambles, which give the brambles their name, have a variety of disorienting local effects. As each tree in the brambles was the home of a dryad, the visages of these druids can be seen in each tree. Some trees merely bear the horrified faces of their dryad hosts while on others half of the dryad's body can be seen outside of the tree, as if they attempted to flee their fate before dying.
The trees also appear to be in a state of permenant undeath and they regularly bleed, turning the landscape of the brambles into a blood-soaked swamp.
