Half-Dragon

A half-dragon was a cross between a dragon and another unrelated creature.

Abilities

A half-dragon had the ability to use the breath weapon of its dragon half, though it was not as potent and could not be used as frequently. Half-dragons had low-light vision and darkvision. They also had tinted skin or scales that were of the same color as their dragon parent and helped protect from physical attacks.

All half-dragons were immune to sleep and paralysis effects. They also had an additional immunity based of which dragon type they were related to

Half-dragons alignment was almost universally connected to their skin color and mirrored that of their full-dragon kin. This is in stark contrast to dragonborn, who's personal alignments were in no way connected to their scales or breath weapon.

Reproduction

Half-dragons were most commonly created through a union of a non-dragon and a dragon, the latter typically being polymorphed as a humanoid.
During the Great Dragon War, the Cult of the Dragon was known to create half-dragon's through a ritual involving the blood chromatic dragons. The process had a very high mortality rate, but the survivors were enhanced far beyond their natural abilities.
