Nascius

Nascius is a angelic solar, who is most well known for being imprisoned inside of the Companion, the artificial second sun of Elturel, for the fifty years of its existence before he was freed by the Lost Star Detectives.

History

At some point prior to the mid-15th century CR, Nascius was captured by the forces of the Nine Hells. He was trapped by the archdevil Bel and was placed inside of a solar insidiator in Bel's Forge. The insidiator radiated light and radiant energy, drawn by Nascius. However, the insidiator had a second purpose. After a location or object was bathed in enough light from the device, the insidiator could, in a sense, revert its polarity, drawing it and all sufficiently eradited objects with it to Avernus.
The insidiator was used by Zariel, archduke of Avernus in 1447, to fulfil the pact she made with Naja Bellandi of Elturel. The light of the insidiator, called the Companion by the Elturians, burned away all undead in the city, ending the Reign of Vampires.
However, fifty years later, the terms of the pact came to fruition, and the Companion teleported the entire city of Elturel to Avernus, beginning the Damnation of Elturel. In 1448, however, Nascius was freed from the Companion by the Lost Star Detectives immediately before the Battle of Elturel. Now free to use his powers as he wished, Nascius remained in the Conmpanion to revert its power output, returning Elturel back to the Material Plane, which he successfully managed to do while the Detectives held off the forces of Hell and the Abyss that tried to stop him.
After Elturel was returned to Faerun, Nascius left the city, taking the bulk of the Companion with him so that it couldn't be reused, though pieces that had broken off during the battle remained behind.
