Sha'sal Khou

The Sha'sal Khou is a secret society of githyanki and githzerai that seek to reunify the two warring groupts into a single, united gith race.

Structure

The Shas'sal Khou are considered enemies of both the established githyanki and githzerai hierarchies, and thus operate without a strong, unified organizational structure in order to prevent one cell's discovery from destroying the entire organization.   Instead, most Shas'sal Khou groups are relatively independent, with only the leadership of each cell able to contact other groups.   Cells in the Shas'sal Khou also vary in purpose. Some are designed to birth and raise non-aligned gith or allow githyanki and githzerai to live side by side in peace, learning to understand each other. These cells operate not to dissimilarly from groups designed to deprogram former cult members. Other cells may be bases within githyanki or githzerai societies designed to spy on their respective societies, find new recruits, or disrupt military operations.

Culture

First and foremost, the Sha'sal Khou seeks to have githyanki and githzerai view themselves as simply gith. This is most prevelant in the ways members are encouraged to address each other, regardless of origin, as brother or sister.   There are on going struggles within the Sha'sal Khou of what the new unified gith people would look like, and opinions are often split between a society leaning more towards one of the existing cultures or the other, the result of centuries of biases and indoctrination. Additionally, as a result of placing so much importance on simply being gith, many Sha'sal Khou groups can come across as gith supremacist, arguing for unity on the basis of their own race's special place and achievements.   This is not a rule, however, and the differing attitudes among cells are partially the reason for the organization's struggles to be effective.
