Szass Tam is an extremely powerful lich and the undisputed master of Thay, serving as High Regent.
Once a member of the eight zulkir that ruled Thay jointly, Szass Tam began a campaign of fear, assassination, and war in the 1370's that led to his sole leadership of the nation as High Regent, though he retains his title of zulkir of necromancy. A ruthless tyrant, he will do anything possible to continue his reign and stamp out all revolt or dissent.
