Vanessa Kanklesten is the gnome head of Saltmarsh's carpenters' guild, responsible for building and maintaining the town's various ships, particularly its fishing vessels.
Though a Saltmarsh native, Vannessa is an Emberists, as she believes the that growing the town with Neveren coin will increase the demand for ships, and thereby shipbuilders.
