Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors

The Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors, often shortened to WOMP, is a guild of magic users operating out of Waterdeep. However, while technically a guild, the Watchful Order functioned primarily as a mage academy. The Watchful Order also policed the use of magic within Waterdeep, encouraging wizards to use magic wisely.

Public Agenda

Waterdeep's reputation as the "Most Magical City in the World" brought with it a host of dangers. Magic users were capable of extreme good and evil, and the Watchful Order aimed to regulate its use for the good of Waterdeep. 
Most citizens of Waterdeep had to be registered in the Watchful Order to use magic. In exchange for the tax breaks this would provide, members of WOMP were expected to help the Watch deal with crimes and problems of the arcane.
