The thri-kreen people first arrive in wildspace, and their great civilization rises and wanes before most humanoids learned agriculture.
An overview of the history of the spelljamming community and the Rapide Frontier for my campaigns in the setting.
The thri-kreen people first arrive in wildspace, and their great civilization rises and wanes before most humanoids learned agriculture.
The thri-kreen unite under the shared banner of the People of the Celestial Mantis and spread across the Known Spheres. Their dedication to the "inevitability" of their god's universal worship brings them into conflict with the other spacefaring races.
The Kingdom of Kemet on the planet Geb first gain access to spelljammers, which are originally used to create their great Flying Pyramids.
The ancient Netherese Empire on Toril discovers Spelljamming, but quickly comes into conflict with the greater Spelljamming community due to a variety of "experiments" performed by the Netherese on captured species. Shunned by the greater community and attacke on sight, the Netherese end their spelljamming ambitions a century later.
The Era of Empty Thrones, a planet-wide war on Syre in Arcanaspace, consumes the entire system. Arcanaspace is shut off from the wider spacefaring community.
The First Unhuman War was a war fought between the Imperial Elven Navy (IEN) and the various goblin, orc, kobold, and ogre spelljamming fleets that often raided the Known Spheres. A brutal war of near extermination, the IEN's victory secured their hegemony as the dominant spelljamming military and scattered the defeated races to the far corners of the Known Spheres.
The ascension of the Major Arcana in Arcanaspace ends the Era of Empty Thrones and its perpetual war. Since the war's end, the planet Syre has begun its slow societal rebuild and was welcomed back into the greater astral community.
Having built an expansive society that ran on the mined sap of the Modun world tree, a crisis strikes Arborspace when it is revealed that the world tree's sap is nearly depleted. To maintain their way of life, a lottery is instituted to send Arborians into the future from inside the world tree to mine the sap once it had regrown.
Locke's Freebooters, a band of living and undead pirates, settle in Podspace to capture migratory kindori and turn them into their skeleton ships.
The Second Unhuman War, also known as the War of Revenge, saw the forces of the Imperial Elven Navy (IEN) and the Scro clash in a protracted and bloody conflict that spread across nearly all of the Known Spheres. Though the IEN nominally came out on top, the Scro were not destroyed and the elves of the IEN saw their influence drastically weakened for the first time in centuries.
The Battle of Gardenspace, one of the climactic battles of the Second Unhuman War, occurs in the eponymous sphere in the Rapide Frontier. The resulting battle destroys the entire Scro fleet and every Imperial Elven Navy vessel save for one.
