Naming Traditions
Dwarves have a distinct culture for naming their children, with a large list of approved given names a dwarf may have, so as to maintain a strong connection to the dwarven nations of old. These names tend to use sharper sounds for males, and softer sounds for females.
Family names relate to the clan a dwarf was born to, and these clans are named after ancient dwarves who were heroic, or otherwise exceptional. These individuals, known as paragons, are viewed as lesser deities by the rest of dwarvdom.
If a dwarf does something truly exceptional, then he may be declared a Paragon by the Assembly. This has not happened in centuries.
