WorldEmber Prep 2023
Week 1: Area of focus
For this year's WorldEmber I will be focusing on consolidating the world building I am doing as part of writing my new Gothic story, and will mainly be using it as a way of keeping track of my world as I write. I am excited to be writing a story with a discovery process and a world that I plan less and rather flesh out while I am writing. Whether I go back a plan a bit more as part of the editing process is something I will consider down the line, right now I want to design the world with a more organic writing process.Week 2: Mini-Meta
Scope
My new story will take place over the span of a town, a forest and a castle. As it stands, I am looking to include a magic system and background lore on vampires, werewolves and a death-goddess.-
Themes and Mood
World Mood Board Goals
My ultimate goal for worldbuilding this Worldember is to have enough of a world that I can comfortably create a well-rounded story, however not to get too focused on the worldbuilding that it gets in the way of my writing progress.
Week 3: Welcome Readers
I struggled with ideas for what to add to my homepage so I went looking for inspiration.

My Pledge
I have pledged to write 10,000 words of general world building content for my current work-in-progress Gothic novel, however I would like to exceed this goal by a large margin if I can. I will additionally pledge that I will not do this at the expense of my mental health and quality time with loved ones over the holidays.Article Checklist

I hope you have a great Worldember! Going with the flow is not a bad plan at all, honestly, that's what I'll be doing too.
Whenever I plan too much it always seems to hinder me more than it helps! I had an idea for a story and it's really nice to just start writing it rather than worrying about 1,000 different world building niggles that may or may not be mentioned :D
