Thassa, God of the Sea

Overview

Thassa is the god of the sea and is also associated with aquatic creatures and the secrets of the briny deep. She is also the god of ancient knowledge, murmurs, gradual change, introspection, vast distances, long voyages, and far-ranging searches. Thassa can also be described as the god of patterns, such as tides, currents, ripples in water, and even the passage of time.

Relationships with other Deities

While Thassa herself is fiercely independent, she if on quite good terms with many other gods. Melora, Kruphix, and Galmazia all count her as an ally and confidant. She also often serves as a mediator between aspects of the moons, given respect by that pantheon as a wise and independent arbitrator.

Following

Although the Aspects of the Moon have more followers together as a pantheon, Thassa is likely the most widely worshiped indivual god in the Sadur Basin. Sea dwellers, sailors, merchants, and pirates alike all hold her in a place of reverence. Monuments to Thassa are found in most every coastal town, and ship figureheads are often fashioned in her likeness. Even so, her following remains relatively decentralized, and Thassa prefers her priests to be captains and navigators travelling the word, rather than professional sedentary clergy.
