The Marking

The Marking was a ceremony held by worshipers of Beshaba when they ascended in rank within the clergy.
The Marking involved a permanent marking of the cleric with a tattoo or brand. This was accompanied by drum music and dancing over a fire. The marked priest needed to endure the pain and discomfort of the ceremony without any kind of healing or other aid.
