In order to test the morality of the Rebirth candidates, Peggy Carter throws a fake grenade onto the training ground.
Steve Rogers, believing it to be live, immediately throws himself on top of it, in an attempt to save the lives of his fellow trainees. This act of bravery convinces Abraham Erskine that he is the ideal candidate.
