Gemmisks

Gemmisk is the general classification of a wide variety of species that call Oara home whose bodies naturally produce crystals of numerous varieties. These creatures seen as extremely valuable and thus are often domesticated and farmed for their byproducts, meat, and gems. These creatures produce crystals of differing kinds, varying from one species to the next. Not all are of lithomantic use, but those that do produce lithomantic crystals are highly prized and farmed in many places, especially in the outskirts of Teimor. 
Not all gemmisks are farmed or bred. This small list contains the most common gemmisk animals that are domesticated and bred for their stones.
Common Thrip

• These are the most commonly found gemmisk. These quadrupedal bug-like creatures are found throughout the continent of Frehr and are easily domesticated, requiring little to no training or upkeep.
• Outside of being farmed for their meat or quartz gemhearts, they are used primarily for labor. One can find many used in pulling carts and wagons, used as pack animals, or even being made into mounts.

Shimmerfish

• Shimmerfish are often caught and transported to fisheries and fish farms near the eastern coastal city-state of Pelikkar where they are farmed for their meat, scales, and topaz gemhearts.
• These large eel-like fish are lured out of hiding and into plain view through the use of bait, typically large hooks with hunks of meat on their ends. 

Jeweled Seekers

• Found in the northern plains near the city-state Ourgankkar, these snake-like arthropods are nocturnal predators that are not so easily bred and farmed. Typically, they must be caught and put into captivity. Because they are subterranean primarily, hunting by tunneling through dirt and soil, containment areas for seeker enclosures include barring off swathes of land with large glass or metal sheets to prevent them from burrowing out.
• Despite the trouble many go through in order to contain and farm these animals, their amethyst eyes are highly prized as one of the more important lithomantic crystals and certainly worth the effort.

Kantchan Fossil Snail

• These fist-sized terrestrial snails are typically found and farmed near the city-state of Brexmor. Wild ones can be located in the dangerous wilds of the southern Baganthar Forests. They are typically found congregating on or near petrified trees, logs, and remains.
• They are primarily farmed for the jade they produce at maturity. Though they make decent meals, most of the rest of the Citarii view them warily given their propensity to be near death and other petrified locales.
