XVI - Beldohr, The Broken
There are no temples to Beldohr, nor are there any shrines or organizations in his name. Those few souls who find themselves worshiping this disgraced god tend to be fanatical in nature, each exemplifying their faith through solitary madness. To most, Beldohr is an ill omen, a name not to be spoken lest you invite the wrath of the gods into your life.
Things were not always this way. There was once a time when Beldohr stood among his brothers and sisters as the architect of the heavens and the god of change. A proud member of the pantheon. As a god he despised stagnation and strove to constantly evolve the world around him. This desire for revolution drove him to radical ends. He disliked the hoarding of magic his peers so reveled in, and sought to upset the balance of power. Thus, he hatched a plan to steal a fraction of the stars' light and share it with the mortals below. He was so careful and with light in hand he absconded the heavens, but despite his best efforts he did not leave without confrontation. With their powers diminished the gods knew their brother betrayed them and they would not let him leave with the light. Beldohr knew he couldn’t win, so instead of fighting he cast the light to the mortal plane of and in doing so gifted arcane magic to the world.
This act was seen as heresy by his peers and would not go unpunished. They striped Beldohr of his divinity, his body twisting and breaking in this brutal process. What remained when they were done was an abomination, a creature unfit to remain in the heavens – And thus, Beldohr was cast below to where he could dwell among the mortals who he had betrayed his brethren for.
Even stripped of his divinity, Beldohr could not die. He wandered the world for thousands of years, never able to recover from the pain inflicted upon him. This torturous purgatory drove the broken god mad, as his mind deteriorated over the years. But as if in spite, the stars that composed Beldohr’s constellation hung defiantly in the sky. Their light a deep red on a black canvas, difficult to observe unless you are looking for it. Once every thousand years however, these stars regain their glow, shining in the night sky once again. During this time, it is said that Beldohr regains their divine might. A power which he harnesses to construct the Tower of Ascension.

Appearance
While there are some ancient depictions of Beldohr which show him as a masculine bald humanoid with purple skin, these are all from a time prior to his fall. Since being stripped of his divinity had such a destructive impact on his physical form, it is unknown with the broken god looks like currently. There are artistic imaginings which display the figure as a monster or twisted abomination, but the true nature of his form has never been recorded.Birthsign Feature - Climber
