The Cyclopes are giants native to Greece and the surrounding regions. Originally three, (Brontes, Steropes, and Arges, the latter being the giant who made Zues' lightning bolt), these were the sons of Uranus & Gaea, and like them were sometimes classed as titans. Cyclops is the singular, and cyclopes the plural. Each one has a single eye instead of two.   The are known as shepherds andĀ builders of the Cyclopean walls of Mycenae, Argos and Tiryns. Also, they are very common as a species on the islands of Sicily & Aeolian Islands.   Since that time in myth there has been more born, and have bred themselves. Each lives a solitary life until they need to breed, and usually keep sheep or goats as livestock. They make their lairs in caves, ruins or rough structures made of stone they fashion themselves. They block the entrances when sleeping to stop anything happening to their livestock. A cyclops will stay a mile or two away from others of their kind, so they can meet up easily and trade or barter goods. Although not that communicative as some sentient beings (usually using grunts and gestures), they can speak, usually in Giant and a bit of Greek.   They are not great thinkers, they do like shiny objects and treasure, hoarding them and making crude jewellery out of them.

Suggested Environments

Any where there is a large Greek population, usually in out of the way places of all types.
