Fire giants originate from the world of Muspelheim, the world of fire on Yggdrasil. The world is hot, with fires and volcanic activity present. The heat of Muspelheim melted the ice of the opposite world, Niflheim, releasing Ymir the father of evil giants of which the fire giants are part of. At the time of Ragnarok, the master of fire giants called Surt / Surtr will lead them to battle the gods and humanity.
Fire giants are aggressive, and expert weapon & armour smiths. They can be found in places where there is volcanic activity and metal ores that they mine to produce goods. Like all Norse giants they are at constant war against the Vanir and Aesir, though a few do marry and intermingle with them.
