Giant Dragonfly

A giant dragonfly has a 20-foot wingspan. It drones loudly as it hovers and darts through the air, searching for smaller insects to devour. Found in the Feywild and forgotten places in the Material Plane, it can be tamed to ride if captured at an early age or as an egg. In the Material Plane it is rumoured such creatures were common in anicent times before most intelligent mortals arrived.
It is an ancient species even older than the dinosaurs, and was prey for dragons. Some Giants keep them as pets & messangers, and a few as a food source.When the dragon & giant empires fell a few remained behind these ancient lairs. Some of the remnants of these old empires pay a good price to bring a few to them, whether to put them to use or to eat.
