Giants - Fomorians

The Fomorians are a race of Giants found almost exclusively in and around Hibernia. They are of Dark Fey descent, and were once beautiful, though given time and the coming of the Tuatha De Danann. They joined the Dark Fey who they had long ties to, and fought against the coming Fey & deities linked to the Tuatha, and the Seelie Courts. This led to them being banished and twisted into horrendous shapes. Each Fomorian has one eye generally larger than the other, that it can use to curse others. With this bizarre attribute and the misshapen body & lumpy skin, it appears that it wouldn't be in any shape to fight. If anything each Fomorian is a viciously strong opponent, and many practice magical arts too, boosting themselves further still.
As a species they attack the surface dwellers every chance they can, and many live below the earth waiting for a chance to strike. A few went into the sea, and developed into piratical raiders, attacking the coastlines of Hibernia, and to a degree the west coast of Britain. As non-Germanic giants they have a deep seated hatred of the Frost, Fire, and Hill Jotunn, and those that have appeared in Hibernia have met stiff resistance from the Fomorian. Both the Jotunn, and the Celts, are viewed as being intruders and squatters on the Fomorians original land and they want both wiped out.
It is not just the the Celts the Fomorians view as squatters, but the rest of the Feywild & Seelie Court, along with Halflings & Gnomes. Each raid is getting more & more ambitious, and the Fomorians are attracting more Dark Fey to their cause. Eventually they look to push everyone else out, take over the High Kingship of Hibernia, and then start to conquest on other lands that have large Celtic populations.
