Gith

The Gith are a race divided, between the Githyanki & Githzerai. They are race of ex-slaves, once controlled by Mindflayers. They fought back and are now a split society who hunt the Mindflayers where they can.
ability score increase: Your Intelligence score increases by 1. Githyanki: your Strength score is increased by 2. Githzerai: Your Wisdom score is increased by 2.
age: Gith reach adulthood in their teens and live for about a century.
alignment: Githyanki tend towards Lawful Evil. They are aggressive and arrogant, and they remain the faithful servants of their lich-queen, Vlaakith. Renegade giltyanki tend toward chaos. Githzerai tend toward Lawful Neutral. Their rigorous training in psychic abilities an implacable mental discipline.

race features:
Subraces. Gith are split into two subraces: githyanki and githzerai. Choose one of these subraces.   Githyanki:   Decadent Mastery. You learn one language of your choice, and are proficient with one skill or tool of your choice. In the timeless city of Tu'narath, githyanki have bountiful time to master odd bits of knowledge.   Martial Prodigy. You are proficient in light and medium armour and with shortsword, longswords, and greatswords.   Githyanki Psionics. You know the Magic Hand cantrip, and the hand is invisible when you cast the cantrip with this trait. When you reach 3rd level, you an cast the Jump spell with this trait, and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the Misty Step spell once with this trait, and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for these spells. When you cast them with this trait, they don't require components.   Githzerai:   Mental Discipline. You have advantage on saving throws against the charmed and frightened conditions. Under the tutelage of monastic masters, githzerai learn to govern their own minds.   Githzerai Psionics. You know the Mage Hand cantrip, and the hand is invisible when you cast the cantrip with this trait. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Shield spell once with this trait, and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the Detect Thoughts spell once with this trait, and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Wisdom is you spellcasting ability for these spells. When you cast them with this trait, they don't require components.
The Gith are a damaged race that is recovering. Split into two factions, the militant Githyanki, and the monastic Githzerai, after their escape from Mindflayer domination. This scarred the race, and have left them with psionic abilities that they get better control over the longer each lives. The Githyanki are militant using silver weapons where they will kill any who takes one of the weapons. They follow the Lich-Queen Vlaakith, and aggressively look to dominate others in real space where they encounter others. The Githzerai are more rarer in real space and prefer to live expanding their mental capacities. Both live in separate Planes outside of Material Plane, coming to the latter to attack Mindflayers, get resources, and to tend to their nurseries. The latter is needed as their home Planes prevent aging so they need these to grow to adulthood.
