Half Elves

Half Elves are not a common occurrence, mainly with some the Elvish cultures being quite aloof from other species. A few do crop up under a number of different circumstances. These are usually found in Germanic cultures, especially the Scandinavian communities where there are closer bonds between the Elves & local Humans. That is not to say it doesn't happen within other societies though.
A a group, Half Elves straddle both Elvish society and the society of their respective parent. Many act as envoys, and mediators between the two, and will defend each respectively when needed. Although not as long lived as Elves they can live double to treble the lifespan of their other blood kin. Most have human blood in them, and look like slender finely featured versions of humans, with some having the pointed ears of their kind, and all having the ability to avoid being charmed or put to sleep magically.
Overall, they take after whatever culture they are born into, and neither parent species will mistreat such a person.
