Lizardfolk - From the Swamps

The Lizardfolk are found in small pockets all over the world in tropical & sub-tropical regions, primarily in swampland, and the odd jungle. They have a general reptilian shape with slight humanoid shapes that allow them to stand bipedally, and the ability to manipulate objects. Each tribe has a basic language, usually based on Draconic, and a general colour pattern to their scales that is distinct in each tribe.
Most of the Lizardfolk are practical in their outlook, and despite being loyal to other adventurers, see the world as one large larder of walking meat sacks. When a comrade falls, then they are of no use to the Lizardfolk, except the equipment, and as a source of food. This is the nature of such beings. They live in the now, and their tribes live day to day in dangerous environments where disease and predators flourish.
When befriended a Lizardfolk are good trackers, hunters, and warriors. None of them are especially religious, nor geared towards magic, though they do have access to simple animist religions & tribal shamans. With their teeth & claws giving them natural weapons to fight with, and their scaled hides acting like simple armour, they do well on battlefields, with many acting as scouts when in other races armies. They can easily live of the land, and can naturally swim, though they can't tolerate exceptionally cold environments, making them lethargic until warmed up.
Where the  Lizardfolk originally isn't known. They are found all around the world in countries at or near the equator, and the prevailing theory is that they were in existence at the time of Hyperborea, before the continents split, maybe even at the time of the Dragon / Giant wars. Some speculate they may have been created to fight for the dragons during the war. They do speak & understand Draconic. Their culture is primitive, and hasn't evolved much over the millennia, and this seems due to their mentality of living in the now.
