Lordship of Eschbach

From the date 25th November in the year of our Lord, 800 AD, let it be known that the person known as Grimmaz Fyrwin has been granted the title of Lord, and the settlement of Eschbach to the south of Aachen. Henceforth, Lord Fyrwin will have the attached to the lands stretching five miles around the settlement and control of it as he sees fit under this deed. The Counts and Crown of the Frankish peoples, or their representatives to be named as appropriate, are to help in the running of said settlement (Eschbach), and Lord Fyrwin is to report to them and them only.   A nominal military presence, local industry & farming, and all trade shall be monitored & taxed accordingly, with the Lordship directing all necessary amounts to the Crown's treasury. Also, a Trading Post is to be built & maintained, along with a fortified position, a structure to act as a local treasury, a military instillation, and a place of study for the more esoteric arts if needed. The building & maintenance of all structures are to be split evenly three ways, one to the Crown, one to the Lordship, and one to the local population. How this is paid is up to the Lordship or Crown as needs dictate. This can range from the monetary, to goods, or work carried out by individuals.   The Lordship shall have a local Council of Three to oversee to local needs and business, as well as act on his (or her) behalf om the general running of the day-to-day business of said settlement. Regular courts are to be held, either by the Lordship, or by said Council at least once a month.   All laws pertaining to Frankish Law shall be adhered to within the boundaries of the settlement and attached lands. Any violations are to be dealt with accordingly and recorded. A census should be carried out every 4 years to establish a rough headcount of citizens. Births, deaths, and marriages are to be recorded & stored locally by designated individuals. Local religions & customs are to be observed (preferably with an emphasis on the Roman Catholic Faith), with the consorting of any Path of Evil being punished under the laws when it violates the rights of the citizens.   A final act concerning the Lordship is that this will be transferrable to the closest living blood relative of Lord Grimmaz Fyrwin withing three days of his death being recorded. If none can be found within that time, then it shall pass back to the Crown until a suitable replacement shall acquire this document.
