Naval Assets

Many of the larger nations have a modicum of naval assets. These are kept at coastal settlement, usually the larger towns & cities. At most a few ships are kept at each, and rarely used. Most are kept to patrol trade routes keeping piracy from taking place. Most of the navies are a mishmash of ships, usually made up of standardized ships, with independent ships backing them up. The larger nations can easily draw upon larger numbers, such as the Franks, the Abbasid Caliphate, Umayyad Caliphate, and the Saxons have some of the largest known fleets, along with allied vessels too. The Norse have a number of ships that can act as a fleet, as well as for raiding.
