Scimitars are swords, also referred to as backswords or sabres. The blade is curved with a cutting edge the length of one side, a sharp tip and another blade running from the tip partly down the back. It is not uncommon to see most scimitars in the hands of some mounted cavalry, especially in the Middle East.
