Session 04: Naughty Mine Report

General Summary

The group wakes up and goes to the council to ask if there is anything pressing. They are told to go to the mine to investigate miners thinking that there is someone illegally mining in the local mine.

After reaching the mine, the group talks to some miners.
The miners mention a wall with some text on it.

They find a message on the wall about order of the devil. A bit further they find a message saying Temple of the coming son of darkness.
After which the group comes across a few images and other Latin lines and find a few poison daggers.
The main image is of a Tiefling and a baby. It seems to indicate the birth of the Antichrist.
9 skeletons are lying around with 8 vials of poison, one Dragonborn skeleton lies over a Tiefling skeleton with a hole in it's chest. The Dragnborn holds a magical poison knife made of silver in the shape of a dragon's tooth.
They take the knife & the painting.
Two miners are acting suspiciously down another corridor. Tall one called Roberto and smaller one called Giovani.
They disappear after cornered to see what they are up to. They did mention a room or temple. Nothing found here.
After they leave the team go back to Eschbach and see them leaving the messangers offices. Magnar stos the messanger with the message. Going to bribe him, Archi casts a Sleep spell on him instead. Getting the message and reading it they replace the massage with one of their own. They say that the investigation by Roberto & Ginova is a bust. The real message says that they found the temple and the potential Tiefling, and have addressed it to Rome & an Abbotess.
Presenting the evidence to Bjorn of the council, he has the area in the mine destroyed and both arrested.
Both have modified Rosary Beads with a crucified Dragonborn on Roberto's and a crucified Tiefling on Giovani's. They have a hidden illusion spell on them and used disguise kits to reveal their true identities. Roberto is a Dragonborn & Giovani is a Tiefling. They follow the Anit Pope & the Abbotess is the leader of their cult cell. They were looking for unholy cult sites to use and expand. They offer this information to avoid execution.
Bjorn says that they will remain in jail until Duke Fyrwin returns to decide their fate. He also gives them 100 gold each, a an extra 100 gold that can be used for the rest of the party if need be.
They take the knife to Edward the Monk to have it stored and to see if the handle can be fixed in a way to prevent the user being poisoned. Edward will store it in the vault until he finds a method to do so.
