Spears are long poles with a sharp tip. The tip is either the fire hardened wood of the pole itself, or a metal tip. In a few instances the tip can be made of stone, obsidian or flint. It can be thrown, though not the same distance as a javelin. It is designed more for use by hand, either two handed or one handed while using a shield.
