Nothing is perfect. Vedalken not only believe this fact, they rejoice in it. Every imperfection is a chance for improvement, and progress is an endless march toward a state of perfection that can never be reached. This viewpoint leads vedalken to pursue work with their delighted enthusiasm, never deterred with setbacks and excited by every opportunity for improvement.
Vedalken are tall and slender, almost a head taller than humans on average but weighing about the same. Their hairless skin comes in a range of shades of blue. Their eyes are darker shades of blue or violet. They lack external ears, their noses are broad and flat, and they are partially amphibious. They usually stand 6 to 6.5 feet tall on average and usually weigh less than 200 pounds.

Vedalkens are quite talkative, but are known to keep their personal lives / details closely guarded. They form close friendships more one mutual interests or different outlooks, and rarely do personal feelings come into it. They do feel emotions, sometimes deeper than most, but they don't like to share this. So, they appear cool & emotionless around other species. They are also patient enough to do nothing until the correct path or outcome appears before acting.
They are descendants of amphibians, and can absorb oxygen through their skin for limited periods. Also, they seem to be indigenous to the world of Ravnica, where they belong to guilds such as the Azorius Senate, the Simic Combine, and the Izzet League. There they put their lawful bent towards providing a structured society, or by using magical sciences to work towards improvements in biological systems.
Very rarely, usually by accident or for personal improvement, will a Vedalken will be found on Earth. There they will seek out sources of knowledge, religious instruction, or other potential sources of mental & spiritual growth. A few will become adventurers, seeking out avenues that will test them to the limits.
