Highly Toxic. When used as a toxin, yew tree parts can result in 19 3d12 poison damage, and forces the victim to make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. If failed, the victim is poisoned for 2 1d4 hours, and takes a further 7 2d6 poison damage per hour. If successful, the victim takes just the initial poison damage.   Inhalation. Even breathing in elements of it nearby(15 ft or closer) causes a DC 14 Constitution saving throw, or take 6  1d12 poison damage for 1 hour.   Possible Spell Component. At the DM's discretion, parts of the Yew can be used as spell components.

Yew trees are deciduous trees found throughout Europe, with tightly packed foliage & thin leaves. It is a flowering tree, and it's seeds are found in fleshy red berries. Most of the tree is highly toxic, and it is surprisingly hardy, being used to make bows, and handles. It is associated with death, and found regularly in some graveyards where it helps the dead, either protecting them, or helping to take them to the afterlife. So strong is the toxins it can be even be inhaled or absorbed by the skin.
