Compared to his fellows, Blade is ordinary. His powers are minimal-- the one thing that sets him apart is his loyalty. Dedicated to survival, he is staunchly loyal to the Controller and his Purpose and isn't afraid to stand up to his family about it.
Unlike his family, Blade believes wholeheartedly in the life he was raised into. He has bought into everything the Controller tells him: that he will be special, important -- that his loyalty will raise him above humanity when his plan comes to fruition. All he wants is for his family to believe that too, so they can be together and safe when the end comes.
