Personal history
Farwin Gaxim was born in a peaceful halfling village where the most dangerous creature around was the occasional grumpy goat. However, Farwin had a peculiar fascination with all things big and dangerous from a young age. While other halflings were content with tending gardens and baking pies, Farwin spent his days daydreaming about taming fearsome beasts.
His first foray into animal taming began with a particularly ornery goose named Gertrude. Farwin proudly declared her his first "exotic" creature, much to the amusement of the village. Unfortunately, Gertrude was more interested in chasing Farwin around and pecking at his ankles than being tamed. The villagers often heard Farwin's frustrated cries as Gertrude sent him running, a flurry of feathers and indignation.
Undeterred by his less-than-successful start, Farwin set his sights on bigger and more dangerous animals. Next came Boris, a surly badger that Farwin attempted to train as a mount. Boris, however, had other plans and frequently dug up the village green, much to the chagrin of the local gardeners. Farwin's attempts at riding Boris ended with him clinging desperately to the badger's back as it tunneled through flower beds, leaving chaos in its wake.
Despite his many misadventures, Farwin's enthusiasm never waned. When Bilfiz Fiddlepedal announced his expedition to explore the wilderness of the 12 Lands, Farwin saw it as his golden opportunity. He eagerly joined, armed with an assortment of makeshift taming tools and an unshakeable belief in his abilities.
The wilderness offered Farwin a plethora of new and exotic creatures to tame, from giant lizards to majestic griffins. However, his attempts were often met with humorous results. Farwin’s efforts to tame a particularly large and stubborn boar resulted in him being dragged through mud pits and tangled in brambles. His attempts at befriending a ferocious manticore ended with him sprinting through the camp, manticore in tow, while his fellow explorers scrambled to avoid the rampaging beast.
Through it all, Farwin's boundless enthusiasm and determination made him a beloved member of the expedition. His antics provided much-needed comic relief during the long, arduous journey. Despite his struggles, Farwin's heart was always in the right place, and his love for creatures big and dangerous earned him the admiration and support of his fellow explorers.
Farwin Gaxim, the halfling animal tamer with a penchant for biting off more than he could chew, became a legend in his own right. His tales of misadventures and near misses were recounted around campfires, bringing laughter and camaraderie to Bilfiz's expedition.
