Goblin Shaman
A Goblin Shaman’s eyes burn with a flicker of otherworldly power, their frail bodies deceptively masking the immense magical force they command. Draped in tattered robes, with crude trinkets and talismans dangling from their gaunt frames, these spellcasters are often feared even by their own kin. With a mere wave of their hand, they can summon devastating storms, call forth wild beasts, or curse their enemies with nightmarish visions. To cross a Goblin Shaman is to invite the wrath of both the physical and spiritual realms, and many adventurers have underestimated these unassuming but dangerous magic-wielders to their peril.
Basic Information
Ecology and Habitats
Goblin Shamans can be found dwelling deep within the tribe’s most sacred or hidden locations, typically in secluded groves, caves, or makeshift huts within their settlements. These places are often adorned with crude symbols of their primal magic—animal bones, fetishes, and other mystical totems. Goblin Shamans prefer locations that allow them to commune with the surrounding natural energies or spirits. They are typically revered by the tribe, and their living quarters are treated with a mix of fear and respect, often separated from the rest of the goblin populace.
Behaviour
A Goblin Shaman is a mystical figure within goblin society, wielding primitive magic tied to the elements or dark, chaotic forces. They gain power through their connection to their tribe’s mana pool, which grows stronger as the tribe’s numbers increase. Unlike the chaotic warriors of their kind, Shamans display an eerie calm, preferring to manipulate the battlefield from a distance with hexes, curses, and elemental spells. They can be cunning manipulators, subtly guiding the Chieftain's decisions and ensuring their own survival and influence within the tribe. The Shaman's primary role is to serve as a spiritual guide and protector, often leading rituals and invoking supernatural aid during times of conflict.
