Personal history
Kragar the Conjuror's journey into "wizardry" began not with the study of ancient tomes or the mastering of arcane symbols, but with a few well-timed strokes of dumb luck.
It all started on the battlefield, deep in a mountainous valley where his mercenary company was tasked with clearing out a goblin horde. As the battle raged around him, Kragar, wielding nothing more than a massive boulder, heaved the stone toward a cluster of goblins. At the very moment it slammed into the earth, the ground beneath everyone shook violently—a small but perfectly timed earthquake. Goblins scattered in terror, and Kragar, in his booming voice, proclaimed, "Behold, my earth magic!"
This moment of triumph only grew his confidence. He started swinging around a gnarled staff he picked up somewhere, declaring it his magical focus. The next time his "powers" manifested, Kragar was battling in the middle of a raging storm. As he raised his staff high into the sky, calling out a war chant, a bolt of lightning suddenly struck a tree nearby. The explosion of sparks and light illuminated the battlefield, and Kragar, awestruck by his own supposed abilities, roared, "Tremble before my lightning magic!"
Word of his “magical” feats spread, but nothing could top the grand spectacle of the raid on a notorious bandit camp. During the assault, Kragar found himself cornered near a rack of oil lanterns. Thinking quickly, he grabbed a torch and swung it wildly at his attackers. One of the lanterns tipped over, igniting the entire camp in a massive blaze. Flames roared skyward as bandits fled in chaos. Standing amidst the inferno, Kragar triumphantly declared, “Bow to my fire magic!”
With these moments of sheer happenstance reinforcing his delusion, Kragar became convinced that he was not just a warrior, but a master of the elements themselves. Emboldened by his newfound “powers,” he founded the Gritjaw Brotherhood, a mercenary company led by him and his larger-than-life belief in his abilities. His men followed him with a mix of loyalty, amusement, and respect—after all, whether magic or muscle, Kragar did always seem to get the job done.
Though his enemies and allies alike may chuckle at his claims, no one can deny that underestimating Kragar is a dangerous mistake. Whether it’s magic or brute force, he’s a force to be reckoned with.
