Personal history
Melodius was born and raised in the coastal city of Driftwood Bay, nestled within the 12 Lands, known for its bustling ports, captivating sea shanties, and notorious pirate activity. Growing up in this vibrant but tumultuous environment, Melodius developed a deep fascination with the legends of the gods that ruled over the realm. Among these divine figures, the alluring Superbia intrigued him the most.
From a young age, Melodius was entranced by the tales of Superbia, the deity of pride, arrogance, and vanity, and her legendary harp, which was said to bestow tremendous power upon the one who could play it masterfully. This harp was believed to be hidden away in a mystical, far-flung corner of the 12 Lands, its melodies and magic echoing across the seas.
Determined to unlock the secrets of Superbia's Harp and harness its power, Melodius embarked on a quest as soon as he reached adulthood. With a lute in hand and a heart full of ambition, he ventured through the diverse regions of the 12 Lands, collecting stories and searching for clues about the elusive harp's whereabouts. Along the way, he became an accomplished bard, weaving tales and melodies that captured the essence of each place he visited.
Years of tireless searching eventually led Melodius to an obscure ancient tome that hinted at the harp's location but remained cryptic and incomplete. Frustrated and desperate to fulfill his destiny, he continued his journey until an unexpected encounter altered his path.
In the dead of night, as Melodius strummed his lute beneath the starlit sky, an imp suddenly appeared before him, its crimson eyes gleaming with a sinister glint. The imp, emissary of a mysterious competition, declared that Melodius had been chosen for his relentless pursuit of power. The prize: anything he desired. Seduced by the promise of Superbia's Harp, Melodius agreed to the imp's proposal, knowing that the competition might be his best chance to acquire the instrument he had long sought.
The imp handed him a contract, and with a sense of trepidation, Melodius put his signature to it, setting in motion a journey into the depths of the supernatural, where he hoped to uncover not only the harp but also the truth about Superbia and her celestial machinations. Little did he know that his fate was intricately bound to the very essence of pride that the god embodied.
