Poppy Greenleaf was always drawn to the natural world. She spent her childhood exploring the meadows and forests surrounding her home, learning about the various plants and herbs that grew there. Her mother, a skilled herbalist, taught her the secrets of healing with nature's bounty, and Poppy quickly developed a deep love for herbalism.
As she grew older, Poppy's skills became renowned, her remedies were sought after for their efficacy, and her gentle, caring nature made her a beloved figure in her village. Despite her contentment, Poppy always felt a stirring curiosity about the world beyond her familiar surroundings. She dreamed of exploring distant lands and discovering new plants and herbs with unheard-of properties.
When Bilfiz Fiddlepedal, the renowned halfling explorer and cartographer, came to her seeking members for his latest expedition, Poppy saw her chance. She joined Bilfiz's band of outcasts, each with their own reasons for leaving behind the safety of halfling society. For Poppy, it was the call of adventure and the promise of new knowledge that drove her to leave her home.
The expedition took Poppy to many wild and untamed places. Her knowledge of herbalism proved invaluable, as she was able to identify beneficial plants and create remedies for the various ailments the group encountered. Her calming presence and unflagging optimism also helped keep the group's spirits high, even in the face of danger.
