Personal history

Roderick grew up in the secluded forests of the elven homeland, but his childhood was far from idyllic. His father, a high-ranking elf within their community, had little interest in Roderick, seeing him as a disappointment from the moment he was born. Roderick's mother died in childbirth, leaving him without the nurturing presence he desperately needed.
Rejected and neglected by his father, Roderick grew rebellious and resentful. He felt suffocated by the rigid expectations placed upon him to conform to elven societal norms. As he reached adolescence, his defiance only grew stronger, fueling clashes with his father and further alienating him from the rest of the community.
Frustrated by Roderick's behavior, his father eventually made a drastic decision: he banished Roderick from their homeland, believing that time spent away from the comforts of elven society would teach him to appreciate their ways and mature into a "proper" elf.
Left to fend for himself, Roderick wandered until he stumbled upon the bustling port city of Stormreach. With little to his name and no legitimate means to support himself, Roderick turned to less savory activities to survive. He quickly discovered that smuggling contraband into the city and selling counterfeit magical writs offered lucrative opportunities for someone with his skills and connections.
For a time, Roderick thrived in the shadows, enjoying the thrill of outsmarting authorities and living a life of relative freedom. However, his luck eventually ran out when a deal with an unhappy customer went sour. Cornered and desperate, Roderick found himself challenged to a duel by the enraged client.
Forced to fight for his life, Roderick narrowly emerged victorious but not without consequences. His opponent's death brought unwanted attention from the city guards, leading to Roderick's capture and subsequent incarceration in the Stormreach prisons. Now facing a murder charge, Roderick must confront the consequences of his reckless actions and find a way to navigate the dangers of prison life while seeking redemption for his past misdeeds.
