Jeol Ir

Jeol Ir demonstrates the results of unrestricted industrialization and lack of environmental concerns. The pollution resulting from its heavy, widespread industrial development has made Jeol Ir inhospitable to life, utterly decimating the planet’s ecosystems.

Despite the horrific conditions, Jeol Ir is still heavily populated and protected by thousands of domed cities and communities. The domes are vital, and cities that neglect their care face a slow poisoning of their air, the infiltration of contaminated rain, or possibly a catastrophic failure of the entire structure.

The ruins of Bolarmiv provide a vivid reminder that even a city of millions can be laid waste in hours if the domes fail. Official expeditions retrieve all manner of equipment and goods from the failed city. They actively compete with illegal salvagers and individual scroungers stripping whatever is valuable. Rumors persist that underhanded individuals in the city of Greliv, Bolarmiv’s main rival, covertly sabotaged Bolarmiv’s systems and things got out of hand.

Jeol Ir’s water supplies are equally contaminated, both its freshwater sources and its vast oceans discolored by chemical waste. Complex systems treat all water and air entering the cities. With their ecosystem already destroyed, most cities have turned to cheap atomic reactors for power. The nuclear waste is dumped in vast polar fields that are even more deadly than the rest of the planet’s surface.
