Keleres Alert!

The various representatives who sit on the Galactic Council employ some of the fastest couriers in the galaxy to transfer messages between their home systems and Mecatol Rex. These vehicles spare no expense to make the best possible speed. Among the communications they carry are official requests for assistance, which the Keleres evaluate and assign to agents as missions. Agents usually get assigned an alert (or a handful of alerts) while on Mecatol Rex. However, agents already deployed might receive an alert from a return courier, which tends to improve response times in regions far from the capital.

Agents often spend time evaluating aid requests and writing Keleres Alerts during their probationary period, or sometimes while on medical or disciplinary suspension. Agent Hale has been with the Keleres since the organization’s founding five years ago, and she has done it all. She has a reputation as one of the toughest agents still working, has been wounded in action at least a dozen times, and has been forced to leave fieldwork several times for recuperation. Agent Hale wrote the Keleres Alerts in the following section while recovering from nearly losing a leg during her last deployment.

Each alert includes a quick summary of the problem the team must investigate, as well as some standard cautions. Cautions can be specific warnings or can refer to a jurisdictional status. Green Zones require no special consideration, while Yellow Zones are areas in the jurisdiction of a Galactic Council member, where Keleres should avoid negatively impacting diplomatic ties. Red Zones are dangerous areas, like active war zones or Nekro space, where agents should exhibit extreme caution at all times.
