Lisis

A primordial world occupying a strategic position in the Core Systems, Lisis once held the largest Saar colony in the history of the species. Long ago, the Sardakk N’orr coveted Lisis as a stepping stone toward both the Coreward Gate and Mecatol Rex. Instead of negotiating with the Saar, they simply annexed the world. The Saar colony completely disappeared, destroyed in a genocidal purge. The event is burned into Saar culture in the form of a chant called the “Lay of Lisis,” and it remains a dark point of contention between the species.

The planet’s surface is split between rugged young mountains and landforms surrounding large inland seas. Few are large enough to be considered an ocean. Lisis' biosphere is fairly young, leaving it open to terraforming. Since their conquest, the N’orr have pursued an ambitious terraforming project while building vast colony warrens in the mountains. However, their ambitions are currently being thwarted by a Naalu expeditionary force that has constructed floating colonies in the southern seas. So far, the conflicts have been limited to small-scale firefights, but both civilizations are dispatching heavier units from their fleets into the system.
