Lodor
Thanks to one of the galaxy’s most diverse ecosystems, Lodor is a seemingly never-ending source of new pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. Its resources are vital to new discoveries and advancements in the biotech fields, and as a result, consortiums have long ruled the world. With a keen understanding of how important Lodor’s woodlands, rainforests, and oceans are for new discoveries, the consortiums protect the planet’s biosphere as if it were a bank vault busting with aurei.
Not all of Lodor’s contributions to galactic health have been positive. Some companies have produced bacterial and other biological weapons, especially during the darkest points of the Twilight Wars. Most biological weapons have been outlawed by the reformed Galactic Council, but rumors persist of hidden stockpiles and manufacturing lines feeding a lucrative black market.
Lodor’s Administrative Committee, which has representatives from each major consortium, runs the planet. It is a highly charged political entity, the rival companies among its membership trying to manage the world and each other while maintaining a competitive edge. The Committee Chair is selected from the group, and their power is entirely based upon the committee’s current faith in their performance. The consortiums each control vast areas of land, but Lodor’s seat of power is the theoretically neutral island city-state of Raadol.
