Mordai II

Home to the second emergence of the Nekro Virus, Mordai II is a mineral-rich world near the edge of the galaxy. No part of the world is left untouched by machines. Vast computer arrays top the poles, while enormous automated factories churn out endless swarms of mechanical monstrosities.

The Open Core

The Nekro have stripped out the very heart of their world with ceaseless mining and industry so that massive chunks of the planet have been eaten away, exposing the world’s cold iron core. By all rights Mordai II should have broken apart long before this point, but the Nekro employ powerful graviton beam arrays to hold their world together. The edges of these wounds swarm with mining probes and crawling swarm factories, and a constant stream of ships dive into the world’s dark heart to bring back hyper-dense iron scraped from the core’s surface.

Accelerator Rings

Massive rings of linear accelerators band Mordai II’s equator. Day and night, they fling packet probes loaded with assimilation swarms into the darkness of the void. None of these probes reach superluminal velocities, but the Nekro Virus doesn’t care. It knows that even if it is wiped out again, only one of those probes has to reach a world in order to start its spread anew.
