Perimeter

Perimeter is an astronomical oddity, featuring two large sets of rings perpendicular to each other. While the Equatorial Rings are fairly standard, the Polar Rings are likely the result of the breakup of a smaller body captured later in the planet’s life in a polar orbit. As this is unstable in the long term, gravitational forces will eventually collapse the Polar Rings into the equatorial ones. However, in the meantime the rings hinder navigation around the planet, but also draw occasional sightseers and astronomers.

Perimeter features massive mountainous continents surrounded by deep-green oceans. The Lazax used the planet as a garrison world, and the inhabitants have never forgotten how well they were treated in those days. Unlike in much of the galaxy, the Lazax are still respected here. This puts Perimeter in good standing with the Winnarans and the Winnu, but Perimeter is also a target in the schemes of each to bend the other to their views on the galactic future.

Perimeter has a robust industrial base, allowing it to create and maintain a formidable military for a single world. It built on the substantial Lazax military technology left behind with the fall of the Empire, and now it is a known source of weapons, ordnance, and military vehicles throughout the galaxy.
