Bramley Underhall

Bramley the Herbalist lived a peaceful life in a tiny village on the outskirts of the Glades of Lithôe. His days were spent foraging for peculiar, tasty, and potent ingredients, a well as cultivating a wide variety of plants, herbs, and fungi in his verdant garden. The townsfolk frequently sought his aid for treating ailments and injuries, and Bramley’s ointments and concoctions were widely known and rather sought after, even in the surrounding villages. One day, while Bramley was walking through the woods, venturing farther and deeper than usual, a druid suddenly appeared in his path. He looked wise but weatherworn. In the druid’s hand was a crystal, pulsating with a warm green glow. Without uttering a single word, the druid stretched out his hand and presented the Crystal to Bramley. As it touched his open palm, he felt a sudden rush of pure arcane lifeforce surge through the very essence of his being, and his new-found purpose was suddenly clear as a day. The druid then began to change. He grew in size as fur, fangs, and claws began emerging from his body and ripped clothing. Bramley watched in bewilderment as the druid slowly shapeshifted. He had heard tales of folk turning into wolves—or worse—and their thirst for the blood of the living. Yet, for some reason, he felt no fear. The druid seemed content, calm, relieved even, as his human form faded and the mighty visage of a bear emerged. As the transformation reached completion, the former druid gently swirled around and strode casually off, slowly disappearing into the thicket. Bramley stood there alone holding the Crystal of Life, and he suddenly knew that the fate of the Twilight Kingdoms was in his hands. He was going on an adventure!
