Dragonborn
Dragonborn, also known as Strixiki in Draconic, are an exceedingly rare race of draconic creatures native to the eastern kingdoms across the Aquie Patrium.
Appearance
Dragonborn resemble in many ways what their name suggests: humanoid dragons. Standing on average around 6 feet and 2 inches to 6 feet and 8 inches, dragonborn are impressively tall with a heavy weight to match, commonly possessing a weight of 220 to 320 pounds. Dragonborn feet end with three strong talon-like claws with a fourth claw in the back, while their hands are similar with three claws with a thumb replacing the rear claw. A dragonborn's head feature a blunt snout, a strong brow, and reptilian frills on the cheeks and ears. On the back of the head, a crest of hornlike scales form what resemble a mess of ropy hair. Dragonborn eyes are usually red or gold in hue. Because of thousands of years of interbreeding, the scales of a dragonborn's hide are scarlet, gold, rust, ochre, bronze, or brown in hue, though a few dragonborn with a stronger draconic heritage have scales resembling those of true dragons. The color of their scales often bears little correlation to a dragonborn's draconic heritage, however.Abilities
Dragonborn have a number of abilities that set them apart. Dragonborn are both stronger and more charismatic than the typical humanoid, traits inherited from their draconic relatives. Dragonborn are also quite durable and when injured had an inner strength that could push them to accomplish even more than when they were at their best. Dragonborn also heals more easily than other humanoids. Most potent of all is a dragonborn's breath weapon, which, like that of a dragon, varies in nature, depending on a dragonborn's draconic heritage. However, unlike with dragons, the skin color of a dragonborn does not vary depending on its breath weapon. Dragonborn also has a natural resistance to the same kind of energy as their breath weapons.Personality
All dragonborn tend to view all living things, even hated enemies, as deserving of courtesy and respect. To dragonborn, honor is more than a word and is often considered more important than life itself. Cowardice is not simply undesirable among dragonborn, it is considered outright repulsive.History
The origin of the dragonborn race is uncertain and shrouded in myth. During the rise of Tiamat and as the dragons became the ruling class across the Borrovyan continent, some dragons conducted strange and horrid magical experiments. The myths state that the dragonborns were born from these experiments as an attempt to create perfect draconic knights and servants to the dragon rulers. These myths are either false or the experiments failed, as the dragonborns were never trusted servants of the dragons. In the aftermath of the Ballet of Scales, the dragonborn quickly became targets of public outlash due to their resemblance to their former dictators. This lead them to flee eastwards, much like most of the elven kingdoms. As of late some dragonborn has returned to the borrovyan continent.
