The eladrin are a subrace of elves who long ago adopted the Feywild as their home. After millennia of exposure to that plane's magic, they acquired supernatural abilities not seen on most of their kin from the Material Plane and are effectively transformed into fey. They are capable of changing their physical appearance and powers according to their mood, assuming characteristics of the seasons, and the most powerful among them have taken became so powerful that they have left their mortality behind and their might rivals that of the gods.
Appearance
Eladrin are similar to elves but are considerably more slender. It is common for their eyes to shine, instead of the normal jet black eyes of the elves, giving away their connection to the magic of the Feywild. Their hair and skin colors change to reflect their moods, which can each be identified to a particular season of the year. How frequently eladrin change their appearance is an individual choice. Some eladrin spend their entire lives in the same season or follow the seasons of the place where they live, while others can change as frequently as once per day.
Society
Unlike other elves, eladrin do not feel a need to ever return to the Material Plane. Instead, they find themselves more strongly connected with the Feywild. There, their cities display extraordinary feats of elven architecture, blending magic, nature, and structures into awe-inspiring landscapes. The culture of eladrin civilization is older than any other elven culture in the multiverse.
Some eladrin believe that, if they lead a life of upholding the ideals of the Feywild, they can reincarnate as members of the Seelie or Unseelie Courts, or even as archfey.
