Morheim
Morheim is the capital of the electoral province of Morland that was formally founded only very late in Imperial history. It lies at the far north-eastern corner of the Empire. Though Morland existed at the time the Empire was founded by Reimar, it was renamed and reformed when its former capital of Osterheim was struck by a comet of tremendous size. The resulting destruction of the province's central government and the death of its ruling family led the remaining towns and villages of the lands of Ostermarch to band together and form a new, oligarchic government which would later become known as the Morland.
Morheim is crowded city famous above all for its meat industry. It is the main hub for trade with the rest of the empire so it is from here the distribution of fodder from Bauerland is centered. It is also here all monster hunters come to sell their best game. Across the empire there is no meat like that from Morheim. Thus the provincial capital is also famous for its many restaurants.
Another landmark of Morheim is the great temple of Torag that is situated underneath the city in the crater of Osterheim that the city is built upon. Dug out by the dwarfs that helped in the construction of the provinces new capital. There is also a massive temple dedicated to Pharamsa in the center of the town, a constant reminder of the odd relation with death that the sets the people of Morland apart from the rest of the empire.

The Red Teeth Tavern
The cities of the Empire do not lack for drinking establishments, but few of their cramped bars can easily hold Ogres, much less cater to them. The Red Teeth Tavern was built by its proprietor, Ruggero Steeleye, in his native Scaelorian style, featuring several large open bar rooms with massive booths but relatively few tables. Steeleye was a mercenary and a successful pit fighter in his youth. He fought beside, and on a few memorably grim occasions, against, Ogres in both of his early professions and knew just how generous they could be with their money when it came to food and drink. Ruggero built the Red Teeth Tavern specifically to cater to his many Ogres working in and around Morheim. It has since become a favourite of passing Ogre mercenaries as well as inhabitants. ‘Red’s’ as the locals call it, serves vast quantities of passable ale and colossal skewers of meat ‘as raw as you please’ which frequently leaves its bars coated in gore. The Grey Prince
The Grey Prince is owned by a divorced man and his male business partner. One of the owners is a member of a race that is common for the area, while the other owner's race is uncommon in the area. One of the owners has no hidden secrets or unusual quirks, but the other dabbles in dark magic. Before owning the tavern, one of the owners was born into poverty but saved up enough money to buy into a tavern, while the other studied to be a wizard, but couldn't make it. The inspiration for the tavern's name was an inside joke. It is a tavern of wealthy quality, and its main draw is a fountain that flows freely with alcohol. The bartender at The Grey Prince is an adult female gnome who is particularly ugly. She is often uncommonly rude in disposition. Her skin is freckled, and she has amber hair, kept in a short, messy style. Physically, she is overweight. On a typical night, the clientele at The Grey Prince can be described as not quite clandestine. On this occasion, there are nearly a dozen other people currently in the tavern. A couple of the patrons are consumed in a philosophical conversation, while some others are playing some kind of guessing game. The rooms for rent are powerfully comfortably sized and taken care of. The Forgotten Flower

One of the owners secretly runs an underground fight club in the basement of the tavern, and the other is a cannibal who preys on the lonely travelers passing through the inn. Before owning the tavern, one of the owners fought as a gladiator in a famous arena, while the other gambled compulsively and won the deed to the tavern in a bet. The inspiration for the tavern's name was a misinterpretation of another famous tavern's name. It is a tavern of wealthy quality, and its main draw is its warm and welcoming atmosphere. On a typical night, the clientele at The Forgotten Flower can be described as excessively amicable. On this occasion, there are around ten other people currently in the tavern. Some of them are engaged in a heated debate. The Fish and Foot
The Fish and Foot is owned by an unmarried man and his son, both of whom are members of a race that is uncommon in the area. One of the owners is secretly the head of the local crime syndicate, and the other is in hiding here due to being wanted for murder in a neighboring community. Before owning the tavern, one of the owners worked there under the previous owner, while the other lived a boring life. The inspiration for the tavern's name was an inside joke. It is a tavern of wealthy quality, and its main draw is the varied cuisine prepared by a talented chef. On a typical night, the clientele at The Fish and Foot can be described as amicable. On this occasion, there are nearly a dozen other people currently in the tavern. A couple of the patrons are dancing/swaying to music, while some others are arguing over how to split the bill. Guilds and Factions
The Torchbearers
They are old but not ancient, an organization of slayers, monster-hunters, explorers and cartographers. Their symbol is a fist grasping a blazing torch, or, if you haven't got much time to make the mark, just a torch. They take their name from the most essential tool against darkness and despair- light. The Torchbearers' main concern is with driving evil back into the holes it comes from. The order was founded in Ophez on the grounds of ensuring that no child in the villages of old Valakia would grow up wearing a wood collar for protection against sucking strigoi, and from there it spread. The movement proved popular, and Torchbearer adventurers piled high the heads and hoards of monsters who preyed on the meek and fearful. These days, the sprawl continues across the northern empire, and in times of doubt and fear a Torchbearer wayhouse is certain to find itself beset by droves seeking encouragement, inspiration, and armament. The Clot Cloaks
The biggest and most widespread slaughterer's guild in Morland, the Clot Cloaks are highly revered even outside of the province. Their rules prevent them from sharing the secrets of their trade which keeps the meat of their homeland at a higher standard the that of the rest of the empire. Most of the Slaughterers of the guild hold lands where they raise giant herds of cattle, but they often seek larger and more dangerous creatures to dissect into prime cuts of meat. The Gourmet Gorget
A society of cooking professionals. In a world of hungry adventurers and monsters, someone has to prepare the dishes to sustain and liven up a party. And who knows, rare ingredients in dangerous places don’t collect themselves! The Sisters of Stone
A multi-purpose guild from the mountains of Dhil Aldur primarily composed of Dwarf women, the Sisters work in trade, stonecraft, brewing, smithing, and more. They were originally founded to help their fellow dwarf women, and fight the belief that there are no dwarf women. As time passed and that notion fell by the wayside, they have opened up their membership to women of all races, particularly those who still regularly fall under prejudice. The Iron Circle
A group of mages dedicated to guarding against the dangers of magic. They understand that with power comes temptation, and they dedicate themselves to policing the magical community of Morland and researching ways to detect, resist, and fight the threats specific to magic-users. Their intentions are good, but not all appreciate their efforts, and sometimes the methods of some members fall into a morally gray territory.

History
Morland used to be an agricultural paradise but was cursed during the civil war which resulted in Valakia's seclusion from the empire. Morland's then-current count had promised his favour to the count of Valakia as he made a claim for the imperial throne. But when that claim was passed in the favour of the count of Waldenland, Valakia declared war. Instead of aiding their ally, Morland acted as a double agent and betrayed the Valakian count when it became apparent that he was in fact a vampire. Wheither this was known to the count of Morland before this is still debated.
This betrayal resulted in the powerful count of Valakia laying a horrible curse on the Morian soil. Damning it to become barren and lifeless. This damned the farmers of Morland to starvation, but with the swift aid of Bauerland they managed feed themselves on lifestock and meat. This reliance turned into tradition and
