The Corrector-Lieutenant of the Solar Chamber
Odile Lachance de Dandale is the Corrector-Lieutenant of the Prince-Mayor's permanent staff, the Solar Chamber. This position gives him oversight in all administrative matters of government, and as such is traditionally counted as the most influential seat in the Serene Conclave (not including the Leonine Pontiff). Gifted in magic and savvy in organisation and coordination, Odile, an emigré from the Kang Protectorate of Kitsunara, was originally of interest to the Clandestane dynasty; however, he openly and scornfully rejected their offer of employment and adoption, stating that "daggers in the dark" was the reason he left his home to begin with. Whilst this made him an enemy of the Clandestanes, it also made him many more friends, and Great House Dandale quickly extended him a generous offer of employment in the family's branch office in Ponvarus. He earned a reputation as being ruthlessly efficient and charismatic to a fault.
On Odile's request, the Dandale dynasty put him forward as a rival candidate for Corrector-Lieutenant against the Clandestane's nominee. This was an unusual scenario, as the Septemvirate normally assign candidates unopposed. However, Odile managed to persuade Prince-Mayor Clovis of his own suitability to the position, and the Clandestanes were, as a direct consequence, snubbed from formal representation in the Conclave.
He is extremely charismatic and deceptively cunning, being able to outmanoeuvre the Clandestanes on their own terrain. Odile spends most of his time socialising, in high and low society, either as part of his job or for leisure.
