Humble Beginnings

Ralbid Tyrister was an adventurer throughout his youth. He was born in Oakenhold in the northern part of Scaelor. His father was a Dragonguard stationed in the town's garrison and his mother was a tavern wench. Disowned by his mother, all he ever wished for was to be seen by his father. In order to see and spend time with his father, Ralbid took service with the blue armored Dragonguard. There he spent most of his days patrolling the town and training with the sword. Motivated by the will to be seen by his father, he eventually became the greatest swordsman in the entire garrison. All was well until the day he caught his father extorting money from the local blacksmith. Driven by a strong sense of justice, Ralbid was unable to look the other way and instead confronted his father. In order to save his own skin, Ralbids father instead blamed it all on his son and having him banished with a death sentence waiting for him, should he ever return. Using his skill with the sword, Ralbid made a living as an adventurer. His adventures eventually lead him to the great city Nova Aera. There he got his first taste of comradery as he found adventuring friends with whom he could work and spend his time with.

Great Deeds

The name of Ralbid became widespread after he saved the city from a goblin revolt by challenging their hobgoblin leader to a duel, where he swiftly cut the goblinoid down and ended the revolt. After which he was given the title of Hero of Nova Aera. His name even spread all the way back to Scaelor. So when the land where being ravaged by a green dragon from the Dragonfen to the northeast, a patrol of green cloaked Dragonscouts came to Ralbid and his party to ask for their help. At first, they rejected the offer on the account of Ralbid's death sentence. But when the Dragonscouts offered him amnesty on top of doubling the reward they change their minds. Together with his party of trusted friends, he entered the Dragonfen to slay the dragon. Alone he returned with the head of the dragon on a cart. Alone he dragged the cart all the way to Freywharf. Alone he confronted the Chromatic king to collect his reward. The king chose to not only give him the full reward but also offered him the hand of one of his daughters and a noble title, along with the keep of a nobleman that the dragon killed. Thus he was dubbed Ralbid Tyrister the Dragonslayer. A few years later Ralbid challenged the elderly king to a duel. After a swift victory took the crown and became the new Chromatic king. The following year his wife gave birth to his firstborn son, who would later be the man who took Ralbid's life.
